This is a fantastic paddle and at an amazing price. The shaft has a discernible flex with really powerful strokes and feel locked in the water during the power phase and exits well. The handle really is a joy to grip onto being very smooth and of a good size. Coming from a kayaking background I know that the paddle is generally more important than the boat and this SUP paddle will be travelling with me. I was initially a little concerned that there may be an annoying slip at the pin and hole joint but this just doesn’t happen – no matter how hard I tried!
On a long journey the paddle feels light and responsive, bow rudders are crisp and sweeps feel solid.

This is my second McConks carbon paddle, as they are fantastic, and offer real versatility in performance.
The bag is also a great feature, and offers more protection than any other companies product – I have a fanatic 3 piece as well – and the bag does not protect the paddle at all.
Overall, I would recommend this over other brands, for affordability but also for the performance the paddle offers.
