eSkating flat day/nothing day carving and cruising can certainly fit the bill. Not to take anything away from your standard SUP discipline bit sometimes the weather ain’t playing ball or your head’s just not in the game. Yet you still want to do something.
You may have seen the McConks Skatewheel from the social media vids we’ve shared. A one wheel electric skateboard, working on a gyroscopic principle it’s super fun and easier than you think. If you don’t believe us just revert back to those vids again and see our offspring getting some rides in.
You can see from the vid above that the Skatewheel performs much like a conventional skateboard. Only with this you have one centrally located, all terrain wheel that gives the feeling of hovering. Carving is initiated by applying pressure to both heels and toes. So, again, in terms of how the one wheel Skatewheel reacts, it’s the same as standard board riding.
Moving forwards and slowing/stopping is all about front and back foot pressure plus weight distribution. Lean forwards and off you go. Weigh the tail and you slow right down. Pairing this with the aforementioned heel and toe action will see you carving it up no problems.
