McConks Go Mega SUP boards can be awesome fun. There’s a multitude of ways you can use them. Here’s a list of some of those us and have some craic aboard the BIG ‘un!
McConks Go Mega SUP beginner paddle boarding fun.
Not everyone takes to SUP easily. And we acknowledge that whilst the sport’s billed as simple it can take some a little while to dial into it. Which is where the McConks Go Mega SUP comes in.
McConks Go Mega 17″ team SUP
Being oversized the Mega is great to get riders of a nervous nature onto the water and having fun. You have to run off them to fail so from a beginner paddler’s perspective they’re super easy to hop on boards and get stuck in.
1. Team racing shenanigans.
Whilst there are tandem race SUP available – paddlers being in a row. The McConks Go Mega SUP offers a different style of team racing. Number combos can vary from four (x1 paddler in each corner), five (x1 paddler in each corner and x1 up front), six (x3 paddlers along each side) and so on.
Pitting your wits against other race teams is a great way to develop paddling skills and have some fun with your fellow paddle boarders. And from an onlooker’s perspective, it’s highly engaging to observe.
2. White water MEGA SUP rafting.
White water rafting is an amazing experience. Having an inflatable dinghy shoot down a white water river course, with rapids and wave trains, is wet and adrenaline-fuelled fun. But you can take things one step further with the McConks MEGA SUP! Check out our friends from Stand Up Paddle Board UK shooting some white water via the link below.

Why sit when you can stand? Sending it on a MEGA elevates the white water river experience to new heights. Relying on your paddle mates it’s guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Just make sure you’re wearing the right impact protection!
3. MEGA SUP surfing.
This one’s guaranteed to put the cat amongst the pigeons if you rock up to a busy surf break in the middle of the summer holidays! So be thoughtful of where you choose to take your MEGA SUP into the waves.
That said, with your mate’s in tow, and the right venue with the right waves (not too big – ripples will often suffice) a MEGA SUP surfing session is an amazing experience. As with white water just make sure you wear the right protective gear as spills will occur!
4. SUP schools and watersports centres apply here.
If you’re a watersports centre then having a McConks MEGA SUP on your racks is a worthwhile investment. For pupils taking a SUP course, it’s an invaluable experience getting them aboard different craft – even craft such as this. Particularly getting to grips with paddle technique an instructor can literally be standing next to and showing you the ways. And a McConks Go Mega SUP is a great tool for adaptive SUP. Some of recommended providers have used the Mega for this very thing with great results!
Another potential scenario is you and your group may have booked a session with a different watersport in mind. Perhaps, however, Mother Nature’s not playing ball. In which case enter the ‘BIG sled’ for some watery fun regardless.
5. Pub rambles and mellow glides.
This has been done a few times in the past. Using the MEGA cruising to the pub with your compadres, before mooring up for a well-earned snifter has never looked so cool. With plenty of room to relax, set up camp with chairs and a table riverside chilling is a breeze.
And then, once you’re done it’s a mellow meander back to base. Hopefully, nobody will fall off into the drink en route!
There are plenty more ways to use a McConks MEGA SUP. They’re more versatile than you’d initially imagine.
