Paddle boarding 160 miles over 5 days is hard work – 30 ish miles a day is tiring work. But many people have managed those miles over 5 days so it didn’t seem that big a challenge.
Paddle boarding during winter is also tricky. They said they were going to do it in January. Typical January weather is either sunny and very, very cold, or warmer, but wet and very, very windy. Neither are particularly ideal for a paddle boarding adventure. But with the right gear, and the right support, it’s not a real challenge. As long as you can get warm or dry every night, then it’s perfectly possible to cover 160 miles in 5 days.

Then they said they were going to be paddle boarding unsupported.
Now we’re getting into the realms of serious challenge. 160 miles, in adverse weather, having to carry all your own gear for the trip. Rather them than us. The weight of all your clothes and gear can make the board heavy and sluggish. And even with the very best designed touring boards can make them harder to handle against the conditions.
