SUP weather updates are something we’ve done in the past. And with the festive period bringing time off work for a good many it can be a good opportunity to get paddling. It’s no secret the weather of late’s been Baltic. With some seriously windy conditions and snow in places. We appreciate this mightn’t be the most inviting kind of SUP weather. So maybe Mother Nature will be kind to us moving forwards.
SUP weather Christmas.
One good piece of news is the Met Office predicts air temperatures could return to milder and more seasonal averages. And potentially more settled. That’s a green light for stand up paddle boarding if ever there was one. First, however, we need to get through the next few weeks of unsettled conditions.
From the Met Office.
Remaining generally unsettled at first, with wettest and windiest conditions likely moving further north with drier and brighter spells developing in the south and southeast at times. Temperatures likely to be milder than earlier in the month, with temperatures near to above normal, although some colder spells remain possible. It is likely to become more settled around Christmas and towards New Year with increased chance of overnight frost and fog during clearer spells.
SUP tastic!
We’re going to err on the side of positivity here and keep our fingers crossed for those settled spells to move in. If that does happen, and hopefully it will, then we’ll get to enjoy a good few days of paddling fun. And give us the chance to work off some of that Christmas Day turkey and pudding!
Whatever you do this Christmas period we hope you manage to score so SUP. From experience, it makes the whole season more fulfilling and kicks off the New Year in style. Everything crossed then!
