Is this a whitewater race board, or a whitewater touring board? Or is it something else altogether?
When we started working with UK whitewater SUP supremo Ant Ing a couple of years back, he challenged us to make something that was better than his current favourite board. He wanted something that he could use to win SUP-X and whitewater adventure SUP races like Hurley. But he also wanted to use the same board as his day to day go-to board for coaching from, and for a bit of downriver touring.
Working closely with Ant, William Evans (from Scotland SUP Co), and getting a bit of help from existing McConks whitewater SUP rider, Matt Stephenson (who is also a phenomenal Team GB freestyle kayaker and all round nice guy), we thing we might have nailed it. What’s the proof?
- Ant won the Nottingham HPP SUP-X race on it
- Matt Stephenson won the UK whitewater SUP fest SUP-X race on it
- Ant is using the board as his day to day go-to board
The big question is who will win Hurley in 2021 on the Go X-wild?
