Do you want to make your own SUP adventures?

The Go Anywhere 10’8 inflatable stand up paddle board is for those people who like to do their own thing, who like to create their own SUP stories rather than being part of someone else’s. Who seek out their own hidden beaches and coves, to get close to nature, to escape.  It’s for anyone who wants to paddle surf, and who wants to take kids paddling or pets with them.  It’s also for those people with a social and environmental conscience.

If that’s you then our 10’8 Go Anywhere board is perfect stand up paddle board choice.

The perfect all round inflatable SUP board

McConks are paddlers too and we’ve redesigned our best selling all-round inflatable SUP board based on our experience a! But we didn’t just use our experience. We’ve also spoken to lots of paddlers to really understand what makes a perfect allround iSUP and used this to set new standards for our touring iSUP boards.

We’ve redefined lightweight touring inflatable paddle boards with our German tech woven drop stitch technology (1).  This uses the latest fusion polymer technology to reduce the weight of the paddleboard compared to competitors, but still provide a solid rigid platform for comfortable long distance paddling. To put this into perspective, this board packs a massive 278l volume, so will happily carry a load of 200kg, and yet weighs less than 10kg.

With so much volume, this board is almost impossible to capsize on flat water, so is perfect for nervous beginners, or heavier loads.  With 6 inches of depth, you ride high above the water, giving great vistas and increasing that feeling of safety.  The 6 inches of depth also makes the paddleboard rigid at lower pressures, so less pressure is needed compared to cheaper, single skin, 4″ or 4.75″ thick iSUPs.

Front storage and lashing points on the paddleboard allow you to take all you need for a day trip, or allow you to attach a SUP seat up front for younger passengers.

With the extra thickness, width and volume, this inflatable SUP board happily eats up the miles even with a kid on board.

The shape has been developed and refined to give optimum all round use:

•   The sleek tapered lines on the rail give excellent glide, tracking and speed when standing in the neutral position and paddling in a straight line inflatable SUP boards
•   The pintail shape gives better performance in surf than round or square tailed
•   The 2 + 1 FCS fin set up allows you to adjust the bite and control of your inflatable SUP to your environment.  Real fins are a game changer for iSUP performance.  Better tracking, better glide and better performance in waves.  It amazes us that anyone still uses fixed rubber fins when the alternative is so much better!

(1) Don’t believe those who say that all inflatable SUP are the same, or that every manufacturer uses the same materials.  There are vast differences in the quality of materials, and in the quality assurance of those boards.   Our boards are on the production table for over 72 hours,  and then  they’re pressure tested for another 72 hours.  If you’re buying a board that costs less than ours, then either the production time is quicker, the materials are worse quality, or the quality assurance is worse.  Or often, all three!

What’s new for 2021?

We’ve extended the deckpad to cover much more of the deck, and more than most boards on the market.  Why?  This makes it more comfortable for kids up front, or for yoga, and also keeps kit more secure under the shockcord.  And talking of the shockcord, we’ve added a new bombproof mechanism that makes it easy to release the shockcord to secure your gear, or attach our new integrated deckbag.

We’ve also added a new bottleholder/camera mount point next to the standing position, and added integrated additional marine grade stainless steel D rings around the standing position.  These lie flat in the deckpad so don’t get in the way if you’re not using,  but allow a SUP seat to be attached if you so want (personally, we think they’re bad for you back, and highly inefficient, but we’ve been told off by customers this year who love them!  We WILL NOT be making our paddles double bladed though – that is seriously bad for your back and shoulders.  The blades are too big and the wrong shape to be used as a kayak paddle, and you will end up with rotator cuff and lower back injuries. An additional cheap split kayak paddle is a much better option all round)

And we’ve updated the design a bit.  We like to keep our design constant for as long as possible – we don’t want to be part of the unsustainable annual upgrade cycle – but we’ve had the previous design since 2016, and it was looing a little tired!

We are also adding a Quick Release waist belt as standard with every SUP package at no additional cost – we care about your safety!

Which board is right for you?

This size guide will help you decide what the smallest board you should consider given your weight and experience level.  but there is no maximum.  It all depends on what type of paddling you want to do.  For further help deciding what size board is right for the type of water you’ll be paddling in, check out this article

Inflation aids

Connect to a compressor | Valve adaptor

This little tool allows you to connect your inflatable paddleboard to a shrader (car tyre) type pump.  Please note that most car tyre pumps are not designed to provide enough volume to inflate a SUP.  Therefore using your car tyre inflator could damage the pump.  And the use of a very high volume compressor could damage your SUP board – so be careful!

Inflating your iSUP with ease | Triple action pump

Why not upgrade to the HP6 double chamber triple action iSUP pump.  This pump makes your pre-paddle routine a doddle, inflating an all round board to 18 PSI in less than 5 minutes, without breaking your back. Upgrade for only £50 extra.

Inflating your iSUP the cheat’s way | Electric eCheat pump

If you want something else to do the hard work for you, look no further than our eCheat pump.  This pump connects to the 12v socket, or the car battery terminals, and will inflate to 20PSI in about 15-20 minutes without you flexing a single muscle.  Perfect for those who don’t want a full workout off the water before starting your on the water one!  £100 when purchased with a SUP package.

You’re not what you wear, but…

Looking good without costing the planet | Casual SUPwear

We’ve got a large range of organic and sustainable t-shirts and hoodies.  From bright and colourful to stylish and subtle, every garment is 100% organic or recycled, printed to order using a small UK company, and delivered within 10 days, but often as quick as 3 days.  Kids, ladies and unisex available

Protect the seas and your body | Rash vests

Not just a rash vest, but one made from recycled plastic waste.  Here’s what a happy customer had to say…

“It is very comfy. Easily the comfiest one I’ve had. Better than my current Billabong one. I wasn’t expecting it to be long sleeved. If I’d have been looking to buy another one, I’d have gone for short sleeve. But now I’ve tried your long sleeve one on, I’m sold on it. In the hot weather this Saturday at the Torbay air show, it was lovely and cooling on and stopped me getting burned when wearing it on its own with shorts. When I went for a swim, I put my wetsuit top on over the top of it and it kept me nice and warm. When I took the wetsuit top off, your rash vest dried pretty quickly in the sun.”

No snags | river fin

Shallow rivers are a drag (literally), particularly for those riders with fixed fins.  Luckily, McConks don’t do fixed fins, and a river fin pack allows you to use shorter fins for shallower waters.

Harder, straighter, faster | Race fins

If you want better tracking, then these stand up paddle race fins will improve your tracking and your speed through the water. With a weed shedding profile they will also significantly reduce drag in weedy waters.

Have fun, be safe | SUP safety

SUP leashes

It goes without saying you should nearly always use a leash. If you’re on flat water, then a coiled leash (supplied as standard most of our boards) is your perfect leash. If you want to surf SUP, then a straight leash is advised to reduce the risk of recoil.

SUP specific quick release belts

If you stand up paddle on flowing water (moderate or fast flowing rivers or tidal rivers), you should always use a quick release safety belt. Without a QR belt, there is a risk that you could be pinned down by the current with your board one side of an object, and you the other. And this nearly always results in death.

We recommend two quick release belts. The HF SUP buddy is a no frills QR belt with manual quick release, and emergency resistance release. So even if you can’t manually release the belt, it will release under enough stress.  The next step up HF Synergy is a premium piece of kit that fully complies with British Canoeing’s guidance on SUP Safety on whitewater.  It is comfortably padded, has a much cleaner emergency release that has a much reduced risk of entanglement and entrapment, and allows for the attachment of a Restube PFD and a throwline.   The belts have an added advantage of keeping the leash out from under your feet, making step back turns much less of a tangle.

SUP eye protection/sunglasses

When you’re paddling you need sunglasses that protect your eyes against reflected blue light, and that are polarised. Most eyewear manufacturers neglect the blue wavelength protection as it is not specified in international standards.  All of our SUP eyewear gives additional blue spectrum protection,  our mirror blue lenses provide the greatest protection for paddling.   With frames hand made from sustainable materials, and made to float, our shades protect your wallet, the environment, and your eyes.

SUP gear protection/dry bags

Keeping your gear safe on the water is an important element of SUP safety.  What good is your mobile phone if it’s at the bottom of the sea?  Our dry bags keep your gear dry, and have inflatable external bladders to ensure they float. And they’re made from recycled plastic waste.

Making memories | iSUP RAM camera mount

This mount from RAM mounts is a totally bulletproof piece of kit. Originally designed for use on high speed motorbikes, they have a bombproof construction, and are up to anything the natural environment can throw at them. So it will keep your camera safe and sound and let you capture the memory for ever. And also prevent your camera causing heavy metal pollution from leaching batteries, and plastic pollution.  And there are attachments for waterproof phones, tablets, speakers, lamps, fishing rods, and much more – it’s not just a camera mount.

SUP schools, clubs or companies

We work with a number of charities, schools, clubs and companies providing bespoke or standard McConks stand up paddle board kit.  To give you a flavour of the kinds of companies that are turning to McConks SUP because of our value and quality, we are an approved supplier to the Princes Trust, Brigantes, a number of councils including Essex Council, Walsall Council, Carmathenshire Council and Beyond Boundaries East Lothian amongst others.  Many instructors use our gear as part of their BCU paddlesports leader courses and recommend our gear to their customers (see our facebook profile and GoInspire initiative to find out more).

7 reviews for Preorder for 2021 | McConks Go Anywhere 10’8 inflatable SUP | The all round SUP package

  1. Duncan Stephenson

I don’t normally write reviews or words of thanks but for this company I really wanted to. Ok so I wanted to buy a paddle board last yr 2016 , as a complete beginner and because I never buy on a whim I wanted to find out as much as possible about then and what paddle boarding was all about. I had only seen pics or short video clip. So I searched the web found out loads about all the different boards and what the companies were offering or why they thought there boards were the best or better than some other companies boards out there. I had decided a Pump up board was the way for me to go as this would work better for me and my needs as I wanted it for traveling to Spain and for storage over the winter months.

The info out there was a bit patchy but this company McConks kept coming up when I started googling Qs about paddle boards, as offering advice on what type of paddle board or more about the different type of boards and what may or may not suit my needs as a complete beginner.

I emailed a magazine that done a big review on all the boards out there, and they told me they had heard good things about McConks and their boards, but had not yet done a full feature yet (It turns out that McConks had refused to pay for the review, and everyone else included in the review had paid for the ‘independent’ review!)

And I emailed McConks a ton of questions over a period of around two months; they were always helpful answered ever Q politely and honestly. I could tell Andy was passionate about not only his company but paddle boarding as a whole.

Time ticked on and, although I didn’t commit, I had more or less made my mind up to buy a McConks board. But McConks said that they were bringing out another longer touring type board in late 2016. I was interested is this type of board more as I would be mainly using it for the big lake near where we holiday in Spain. I felt bad not committing but wanted to wait, so unless a great deal came up on Ebay etc I wasn’t sure. But the cheap ebay deals never happened, and the ones for sale were cheap and had rubbish reviews or the “ Second hand boards from ‘named brands’ were just as much if not more than McConks brand new ones ???

Time rolled on to 2017. The new McConks touring board was out and had some great reviews (like all their boards). I contacted the company again inquiring more and asking even more Qs , once again he was so helpful and never pressured me just offered open honest advice.

I took the plunge and brought a McConks board early 2017 , It arrived in a great bag really big and loads bigger than I expected you could easily get a lot of extra gear in there if this is the only bag you wanted to take on holiday. Booked the bag on to the flight as a sports bag, all easy.

Now the review on the McConks board: It did take a fair bit of time to pump it up to the pressure required not ages but you still knew you were pumping it up. This was not a problem and the pump was really good and solid feel to it just took a bit of time; once up it felt really solid. Now being a complete beginner I have nothing to compare it to and I have never been that great with balancing stuff. It felt a bit unstable first of and paddled a bit on my knees , the carbon paddle felt really solid and strong and I’m glad I upgraded to this.

After a few minutes I felt ready to stand up; the lake I’m on is big and deep and there is a fair bit of current from the wind. Yes I did fall in a few times but managed to get back on it without having to swim to the edge. When I got used to it a bit more, I have to say I felt great on it and I am so so happy I went for a McConks board , it seemed to glide really nicely and I’m sure once I get better at it will feel so at ease on it.

Like I say I don’t have any experience on any other board but what I do know is that when I was out on that lake for the first time, I felt so happy that I had chosen to buy this board from this company. Andy had always made me feel like a customer and just wanted to make sure I got the right board for me and what I wanted it for. He never gave me hard sell, yet was sure I would love his boards whatever one I went for. I am sure that as I improve with practice, I will love this board even more than I do now, but to know in my heart how happy I was out there on the water completely at peace and free was worth every penny.

So to sum up I just wanted to say thank you, you never pressured me but you delivered on a product that I’m sure will give me hrs and hrs and yrs of fun and happiness.

My family enjoy holidaying on and near the water. Late last year we tried out paddle boarding and were hooked. I spent quite some time investigating options to buy and I found the whole world of inflatable SUP to be quite confusing with everyone claiming they had the perfect product at the cheapest price.

Over time I started to work out what the key features were that really mattered and narrowed down to a few brands. I then made enquiries with McConks with some questions, possibly silly ones, and was so pleased to receive patient and detailed responses to my queries, without any kind of pushiness.

Following these discussions, I bought one of their boards. I am yet to use it (not brave enough in the current weather) but the quality of the equipment is great. McConks pride themselves on working very carefully on the details of the design and it does show. The board itself is great but the accessories are as well – really well thought out (particularly the bag) and high quality.

A post-sale enquiry was handled just as efficiently as all my pre-sale questions – that is the sort of thing that separates the men from the boys when it comes to true customer care.

I thoroughly recommend McConks. If anyone else is at that same point of indecision that I was at, I would strongly suggest getting in touch with them for some pressure-free advice.

Having ordered my paddle board, any queries I had were answered promptly and in a very professional and friendly manner by Andy. The customer service really has been 2nd to none from start to finish.
When the board arrive I was really impressed with the quality of the board and all the parts that come with it. I took my board out to try it the very next day.
It took about 10 minutes to inflate and once on the water I was happy with how well the board tracked compared to other boards id tries. the balance of the board is really good, I knew within minutes I’d made the right decision going with the McConks board.

  4. actionflack

One of the best boards I’ve used. There’s a nice teardrop shape and great features. It’s clearly been well thought out in the design stages. The bag provided is one of the best I’ve seen – plenty of storge space and ventilation – which I think is often overlooked with sup packages.
The boats inflates nicely, tracks well on the water and having the choice of different sized fins (optional extras) really opens up different areas of exploration. As all
3 fins are removable it makes transporting several boards on a roof rack etc really easy as they all stack together.
Highly (and regularly) recommended as an all rounder board…

Excellent SUP for a hesitant beginner. I am +6′, 100kg and yet the board is very stable. When you inflate it, it is surprisingly solid yet weighs very little. Plenty of capacity for lots of stuff, shoes, kids, wives etc and the odd thing is the stability remains the same. It is a fairly broad board so manoeuvring is maybe a tad slow, but probably perfect for the beginner. McConks give nothing but excellent service. I had a problem with the board and it was sorted by McConks within a day – I really could not fault their customer service, they really want you to get the best out of the product and will go the extra mile to help. Can only praise McConks SUP products and their general service.

  7. Barry Edwards

I purchased the 10ft 8 go anywhere board after looking around different companies and trying out both Red and Jobe boards. I found the customer service excellent and delivery was quick. I have used it twice in Cornwall now in both good and awful weather, and found it to be an excellent board. I upgraded to the high power pump and the board takes about 10-15 minutes to inflate and probably 10 minutes to deflate. Next week I will try it out in Weymouth on a 121 lesson with Elaine Farquharson (Sup coach) but I am sure it will be great. Great board
