A reminder of what autumn & winter paddle board sessions can be like.

With the UK’s weather being so blowy and wet of late it’s hard sometimes to remember and visualise what paddle boarding at this time of year can be like. We appreciate you can’t control Mother Nature’s moods so you do have to be on it during the off season in terms of forecasts. If a good weather window pops up then take it!

Family McConks recently scored a fabulous session in between low pressure systems. Conditions were sublime with sunshine and calm. The unseasonably mild thermometer readings we’ve had through most of the autumn ensured all of us could enjoy a float. And it should be noted that the mild feel is one silver lining to the kind of weather we’ve been having. But we digress…

For paddlers looking to get on the water still here’s a pictorial view of what stand up can be at this time of year. As we always say keep one on the forecast and when you spot a suitable weather window get on it!
